Physical Education

Sometimes you know about a sport but you just don't have the vocabulary to explain it.  If that is true for you, you may want to look through these handouts or these websites to help you build your vocabulary and your sport knowledge.

You may also find that your PE teacher may do a winter sport iin the fall or spring.  This often happens because there isn't enough space for all PE classes to be doing the same activity at the same time.

Idioms used in sport.   Idioms are expressions that don't mean exactly what the words themselves say.  These are always very difficult for people who are learning English.  Click on the following links to find out about different idioms, what sport they come from and what exactly they mean.  You might be surprised where certain phrases come from!
